I can't believe it. At first I thought it only to be a rumor. Yet now I am here, relaying my story to you, about the day (which is today) that I found out some of the worst news I've heard in a long time.
Yes, it's offical. Yahoo news and ABC news both took the liberty of telling me via internet and television respectivly. Pluto, the beloved, icy, ninth planet which has only completed 30% of it's revolution around the sun since discovered is no longer that. It is now: NOT A PLANET. It is, infact, in a special class (which they've just made up today) called an icy dwarf; smaller than a planet but larger then a commet.
I can not believe this. Pluto holds a very special place in my heart. I wrote my first research project on Pluto when I was in the 3rd grade. It was the mystical planet that would switch on and off from the ninth to the eighth planet with neptune every so often. I say we have a petition! They can't do this to us! Pluto will have it's revenge! I don't CARE if they're bringing the ashes of the man who discovered it to the planet. Who CARES if it will get there in as little as 8 years. Pluto, like Mars, has every right to be a planet.
Oh, no! What will Gustav Holst think?
RIP Pluto 1930 to 2006
